John Henry Moon was born January 19, 1902 and died November 20, 1971. He was a confirmed bachelor who loved to pick and have fun. I remember he tied a piece of nylon hose around a turkey's neck that he shot so that he could get a picture made to send to his brother Jim in Florida. He wanted it to look like a huge gobbler. In this picture, he's kicked back sleeping - a pose I have seen him in many times.
He lived way back off the road and we would go there often in the truck. He had pigs running free inside the fenced area where his house was - and I was petrified one would get me before I could make a dash from the truck to the house. He - as usual - thought it was funny.
